Volunteer Eligibility Policy

AGE REQUIREMENTS:
*Student volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and must obtain parental permission.
*Tutors must be at least 16 years of age (Tutors at the Altercrest Campus must be at least 21 years of age).
*Adult volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

AVAILABILITY:
*Can you volunteer at least once a week?
*Adult volunteers are required to donate 30 hours per year.
*Student volunteers are required to donate 20 hours per year.
*Are you looking for employment?  If so, please wait until you get settled into your new job and know how much time and energy you have for volunteering.

HEALTH & SAFETY:
*All adult volunteers must have a TB test.
*All adult volunteers must have a fingerprint/background check administered by our Human Resources Department.
*All volunteers must attend an orientation.

PERSONAL CRITERIA:
*Volunteers must have a genuine desire to help others.
*Volunteers must have the ability to take direction and redirection from a variety of staff personnel.
*Volunteers must be prompt and dependable.
